This medium to large Agave with a diameter of up to 140 cm (55 in.) is native to the Mexican States of Sinaloa, Durango, Nayarit and Jalisco, where it grows on the faces of sheer cliffs of volcanic origin. It has beautiful, thick, soft, thornless, light bluish-green leaves and can form a trunk with age. Agave attenuata subsp. dentata is a rather tropical Agave and prefers adequate watering throughout the year and a position in full sun or partial shade. It is not particularly hardy to frost.
