A fruit tree native to Brazil that produces copious amounts of yellow fruit with edible arils that have a sweet, pleasantly acidic taste and are said to have good anti-cancer properties. It is well known in Brazil as "bacupari" or "mangostão-amarelo" and is a very adaptable plant that will grow in any tropical or warm temperate climate and even take an occasional light freeze.
