Cyatheales

The Cyatheales include many species of tree ferns, which develop upright stems and can reach more than 10 m in height. Their leaf structures are called fronds and the undersize of the fronds holds the minuscule “seeds”, called spores. They are distributed in tropical and warm-temperate rain and cloud forests. The families Dicksoniaceae and Cyatheaceae contain many large, imposing species. One the most common species in cultivation is Dicksonia antarctica, the Tasmanian tree fern.
