A really stunning, stemless, smallish to medium-sized and usually solitary Aloe with upright and incurved, spiny, grayish to reddish leaves and a compact, unbranched inflorescence with densely set, dull red flowers that usually turn greenish yellow when opening. Aloe peglerae is found on rocky slopes in South Africa's North-West Province and just into Gauteng between 1400 and 1700 m (4600 and 5600 ft). It is an excellent plant for warm temperate climates that will take drought and moderate freezes.
