A beautiful, compact species from northern Mexico where it grows at high elevations. It forms a dense, solitary rosette with up to 100 dark green, wide leaves that have white markings and marginal fibers. The Maguey tolerates moderate to severe freezes. This species is also widely known as Agave filifera ssp. schidigera.
