A tropical Agave from lowland locations in Nayarit and Sinaloa, Mexico where it grows in the shade of dry deciduous woodland. It forms a rather open rosette to 2 m (7 ft.) in diameter with few, soft, very pale, bluish-green leaves. It is virtually unknown in cultivation and, while not the most desirable of all Agave, it would be a suitable plant for more humid and tropical locations.
