Seeds from this species ...
...difficult to germinate and need up to 3 months to
sprout.
These need patience; very slow growing. Mine took months to germinate, and a few years before large enough to
transplant outdoors at 6" to 8" tall. While small it just looks like grass and subject to someone
mistakenly throwing away. My seeds were taken from a healthy wild plant.

I aquired one of my yucca filifera seeds from my park. This yucca species to me is very easy to grow from seed,
but, takes a very long time to reach a good height. Germination takes up to one month, and this particular species
likes warm weather.

Plants from this species ...
... are of average ornamental value
In Southwest Devon in England they need very little care and grow slow.
I grow Yucca filamentosa in my back and front garden. They do not seem to be fussy because in my back garden, one is in full sun all day while another in my front garden is in shade for most of the day. They have survived severe frosts and droughts. Every year, they produce dozens of suckers. This plant is very vunerable to aphids and I have had several cases. Overall this plant is attractive and hardy. I do not know exactly how old they are because they was there when we moved house but it is definately 6-12 years old.

success depends on many different factors; nevertheless, these experiences will hopefully aid you in your effort to get the
