Trachycarpus is popular not only for its cold-hardiness but also its easy cultivation. Seeds should be soaked in water for a day before sowing, then follow the general germination instructions for palm seeds. Room temperature is sufficient for successful germination. 6 cold hardy species
For those in cold climates who are having a hard time deciding which palms to pick, we have selected six of the most
cold hard palms. The cold hardy palm seed sampler will contain one portion (approximately 10 seeds) of each of these
robust species who, once grown to a plantable size, will withstand severe freezes. Depending on the species, they
can take extreme lows from -12°C (10°F) to -23°C (-10°F), which is equivalent to USDA zones 8 and
6 respectively. Germination instructions are included.

Four easy-care cycad species

Our Cycad Sampler provides you with one portion (approximately ten seeds) each of a small selection of easy-care cycad
seeds. Cycads are ancient plants that were already around when dinosaurs were roaming the earth. They are not difficult
to sprout. Please follow the general germination instructions for palm seeds. Make sure to use an airy mix and place
the seeds on the surface.

Six wild banana species
Bananas are fascinating and extremely fast growing plants that will create a tropical look in your home or garden
within a very short time. This selection contains one portion (approximately ten seeds) each of six different wild
banana species. Each one exhibits very different characteristics: some are dwarf, some giant, some have beautiful
flowers, and some will bear attractive fruit. They all need good light and wind protection if planted outside. For
germination please follow the general instructions for palm seeds. Some species can take a long time to sprout, so
have patience.

Agave are undoubtedly among the easiest plants to grow. Apart from direct sunlight they need little care, water or
fertilizer. They are as rewarding to grow in the desert garden as they are in pots in and around the house. Our Agave
Sampler will provide you with one portion (approximately ten seeds) each of a small selection of fine species. The
tiny seeds germinate easily and should be sown on the surface of a well-drained potting soil. The sprouts need good
light right from the beginning.

Six sun-loving flowering species
Each one of the Yucca in this selection exhibits very different characteristics: some are dwarf, some giant, some
have blue leaves, some green, and all produce beautiful, large flowers. They all appreciate a spot in unfiltered sunlight
on well-drained ground, but otherwise need little care, water or fertilizer and will not mind cold winters. They are
most rewarding to grow in the subtropical garden as well as in pots in and around the house. Each of the six packets
included contains ten seeds, which germinate easily and should be sown on the surface of a well-drained potting soil.
The sprouts need good light right from the beginning.
