Yucca baccata var. vespertina
Mojave Datil Yucca
While generally quite similar to Y. baccata var. baccata, this variety forms large clusters of plants with bluish leaves. The short flower stalk carries large white to purplish flowers. It is native to the Mojave desert in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah, where it grows in dry woodland or sagebrush between 600 and 2000 m (2000 and 6600 ft.). In cultivation it tolerates drought and severe freezes and is best suited to dry temperate climates.
