Tetrapanax papyriferus Rice-paper Plant A popular ornamental shrub in the Araliaceae from rainforests on Taiwan, closely related and similar to Fatsia, in which it was once included. It forms a slender, usually unbranched stem that reaches several meters tall, topped by a rosette of large, long-stalked, palmate leaves to about 50 cm (20 in.) in diameter. In cultivation it does well in a few tropical and many temperate climates between USDA plant hardiness zones 7 and 10. |
