Tectona grandisTeak A large, big-leaved, dry deciduous tree to 40 m (130 ft.) tall, originally native to tropical Asia but widely planted throughout the tropics today for its durable, insect and rot resistant wood that is much used for outdoor furniture, veneers, doors and window frames etc. It is best suited to the tropics. Seeds require a two week pretreatment with alternating 12 hour periods of soaking and drying. |
