Ptychosperma microcarpum

A rather tall, clustering species from montane rainforests in Papua New Guinea with slightly plumose leaves composed of many narrowly wedge-shaped leaflets, reminiscent of Normanbya or Wodyetia. A great, very easy and fast growing palm for the understorey in the tropical garden and an excellent and elegant houseplant.

Easy to germinate. Of the 100 I purchased, over 50% have germinated inside of 2 months in a greenhouse environment

Soak seeds in water for 48 hours to help seperate pulb. Viable seed can then be sown in layers of moist spagnum moss and placed into air tight plastic bags for faster germination. Place onto heated propagation bench to help increase germination temperature. Tube up once green foliage can be seen growing in the spagnum moss.
