A stunning, mildly clustering dwarf palm from the undergrowth of rainforests on the island of Borneo, that grows to about 1 m (3 ft.) tall. The pencil-thin stem carries a small crown of long, entire, paddle-shaped leaves that are dark green above and silvery below. The small inflorescence is bright red. This unique palm is very rare in cultivation and much sought after by collectors. It requires a protected spot in the tropical garden.
