Celery Top Pine
A medium sized conifer, sometimes to 30 m tall and native to wet temperate forests on Tasmania, at elevations between sea level and 1000 m. It grows a straight trunk, covered by reddish-brown bark, scale-like foliage and modified stems (phylloclades) that perform the leaf functions and look like celery leaves. Its durable, yellow wood is very desirable for furniture making. It makes a wonderful ornamental for temperate climates and is hardy to USDA zone 8.
