Pavonia hastataSpearleaf Swampmallow A small shrub, rarely more than 1 m tall, with spearhead-shaped leaves and Hibiscus-like white or pink flowers with a dark center. It is native to forest edges, savanna, riverine forest and disturbed habitats, sometimes on seasonally flooded ground in southern South America but it has escaped cultivation and naturalized elsewhere. It is very easy in cultivation in temperate climates in USDA Zones 7 and above and flowers profusely.
