Originally from South America, this wild tobacco has been naturalized in many other parts of the world and grows in a variety of habitats: from coastal areas, to grasslands, shrublands, etc. It takes the form of a shrub or small tree, rarely reaching more than 6 m in height, sparsely branched, with lanceolate, bluish to grayish green leaves and tubular yellow flowers. Nicotiana glauca is a very prolific seed producer but its cultivation should be carefully supervised because it has invasive potential. It is very unpretentious and should do well in most warm-temperate climates in USDA Zones 10 and above.
