| Nephelium maingayi Serait, Seruit, Serupit One book on the tropical fruit of Brunei, published in the 1990s, suggested that the Serait was headed for extinction or was probably even extinct. The so-called "nude ramboutan" is an extremely rare fruit, small in size and only about 2.5 to 3 cm in length. It is easily peeled and the aril is very juicy, sweet and inviting and quite unlike the common ramboutan in consistency. The heritage-red colored fruits have true commercial potential. Certainly not a species to miss!
