Common lantana, wild sage
A gorgeous evergreen shrub, up to 1 m tall (3-4 ft.), native from Mexico to South America and the Caribbean but widely cultivated elsewhere in tropical areas. It presents slender, upright stems with broad, oval-shaped leaves that are hairy above toothed along the margins and very showy clusters of multi-colored flowers that age from yellow to red or purple. It is an excellent plant for warm-temperate and tropical areas in USDA Zones 10 and above and will tolerate drought and poor soils. I some countries it is considered an invasive weed.
