A small shrub to 1 m tall with succulent, rounded, bluish green leaves, often with a purplish tinge. The inflorescence is short and compact with many yellow flowers. Kalanchoe grandiflora is native to India and is found in dry regions on slopes with poor, rocky soils between 1000 and 2000 m elevation. In cultivation it will do well in warm temperate and dry tropical climates in USDA Zones 9 and above. It also makes an excellent potted plant.
