Seeds from this species ......easy to germinate and need up to 3 months to sprout.
Seeds were ordered from Rarepalmseeds. Upon arrival, I placed the ten in warm tap water and soaked for five
days with daily water changes. After soaking, the seeds were placed directly into a plastic zip-lock bag with
moist sphagnum moss with no other pretreatments. The seeds were left in front of a south facing window for heat.
Five of the ten seeds germinated in all, would most likely have been more had I not allowed the sphagnum to
dry out at one point. First seed germinated in about 6 weeks, with the last germinating (after the dry out and
rehydration) in about two months. Seems to have a fairly long period of viability for such a little seed. Four
of the five seedlings have died after being kept inside during the winter, apparently from damping off.

Ratings and comments reflect individual experiences and the views of our visitors. They do not necessarily describe the most
appropriate methods, nor are they necessarily valid for all seeds or plants of this species. Germination and plant cultivation
success depends on many different factors; nevertheless, these experiences will hopefully aid you in your effort to get the
best germination results from our seeds and the best growth results from your plants.
