Blue Guarri, Blue Ebony
This large shrub or small tree in the ebony family rarely grows taller than 6 m and grows a much branched trunk, topped by a neat, rounded crown of grayish-blue foliage and small, yellowish, fragrant flowers. In general aspect and some details it resembles the Mediterranean olive tree. It is widely distributed throughout the highlands of southern Africa in a wide variety of moderately dry habitats. In cultivation, Euclea crispa makes a highly desirable and robust ornamental for warm temperate climates.
