Marcgrave Sugar Apple
A small or medium tree, rarely to 20 m tall with narrow leaves that have silvery undersides and purplish flowers followed by edible, reddish, segmented fruits that are highly sought after for their sweet and creamy, peach-flavored pulp. Duguetia marcgraviana is native to semideciduous forest in eastern Peru, Bolivia and western Brazil at low to medium elevations. Despite its tasty fruits, it is essentially unknown in cultivation.
