This beautiful and rare succulent forms a dense, Aloe-like, solitary or weakly clustering rosette with flat, succulent, pale bluish leaves. Dudleya gatesii is native to rocky, granitic soils in Baja California, Mexico. It makes a very tough, drought-tolerant ornamental for USDA Zones 9 and above. It must have full sun to stay in shape.
