This small, spreading conifer can reach up to 6 m tall and is native only to Tasmania, where it grows in cold, humid alpine and subalpine areas. It presents small, scale-like foliage on finely divided, weeping branches and both male and female trees hold small, brown, terminal cones. It does well in cultivation and tolerates moderate freezes. Diselma archeri is ideally suited for temperate climates with cool, humid summers and is hardy to USDA Zone 8.
