| Coccothrinax yuraguanaThis beautiful, midsized palm forms a very slender, solitary trunk, clothed in its upper part in coarse leafsheath fibers, and supports a small crown of beautiful, very rigid, circular leaves that are green above and silvery white below. It is native to pine woodlands in western Cuba. Coccothrinax yuraguana is very rare in cultivation and best suited for the drier tropics. It can withstand an occasional light freeze and considerable coastal exposure. |
