| Clerodendrum infortunatum (= C. viscosum)Hill Glory Bower A pretty shrub or small tree, growing in forests and along roadsides, from the southern part of India to Indo-china to Peninsular Malaysia. It has large, soft, heart-shaped, hairy leaves and terminal inflorescences with delicate white-pinkish flowers, followed by showy, globose, dark blue fruits, each nestled inside an enlarged reddish-pink calyx. Aside from being a wonderful ornamental for humid, tropical areas, Clerodendrum infortunatum has a variety of medicinal uses in the traditional Ayurvedic system. |
