Amply distributed around the globe, from the Russian far east to the temperate pasts of East Asia and eastern Australia, New Zealand, to Chile, this tufted sedge grows in coastal habitats and sand dunes, at low altitudes. The Dwarf Sedge spreads by a slender rhizome. The blue-green leaves are so curved downwards that they almost touch the ground. A nice, fast growing ornamental for temperate and warm-temperate climates.
