Asparagus aethiopicus (= A. sprengeri)
A small, semi-woody plant with fern-like shoots fine, needle-like foliage, native to western South Africa. It adapts well to a wide variety of situations in warm temperate and tropical climates in USDA Zones 9 and above and also makes an excellent house plant. It is widely cultivated and also often seen in the nursery trade as Asparagus sprengeri or A. densiflorus Sprengeri. In some countries, Asparagus aethiopicus is considered an invasive weed.
