| Aloe rupestris This magnificent, large Aloe grows an unbranched, upright trunk as tall as 8 m, covered at least in the upper part with dried leaves below the large crown of long, broad, deep green leaves. The much branched inflorescence holds many densely arranged yellow or orange and red flowers. It is native to bushland on rocky slopes between southern Mozambique and KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa to 1000 m elevation. Fairly fast and easily grown in warm temperate and tropical climates in USDA Zones 9 to 11. |
