Small Coral Pea
A large dry deciduous tree to 30 m tall, with pinnate foliage, catkin-like, yellowish white inflorescences and bright red, showy seeds. Adenanthera microsperma is native to dry forests in tropical Asia to 600 m. It is popular for its hard, reddish wood, for use as a fodder tree, for various medicinal uses, a red dye and as an ornamental shade tree. The seeds should be scarified or briefly immersed in boiling water before sowing.
