Puya herzogii
This magnificent, terrestrial bromeliad produces clusters of largish rosettes with gray, serrated leaves that give rise to an impressive, large, club-shaped inflorescences that can reach to over 2 m tall. The flowering bracts are covered in white and gray wooly hairs, and hold attractive, yellowish green flowers with bright orange stamens. It is native only to high altitudes in Cochabamba Dept. in Bolivia, where it grows between 2300 and 4000 m.
